Indonesia Ministry of Manpower, Tsinghua University and United in Diversity Foundation signed MOU on Indonesian Human Capital Leadership and Innovation Development in Public Employment Policy on 9th November 2016 in Jakarta. The MOU intended as the basis of cooperation between 3 parties to enhance Indonesian human capital through training programs in the field of public employment policy and aims to:

  • Improve the quality of leadership and innovation in public employment policy;
  • Expand the strategic networking between the government agencies of Republic of Indonesia and China in public employment policy;
  • Improve Indonesian human capital in the area of formulation, implementation and review of public policy.

Based on the MOU signing, three parties jointly organized Collaborative Creative Learning and Action for Sustainable Solutions Program (CO-CLASS), which aims to provide a learning experience that ultimately result in “creating a sovereign and independent employment climate, based on mutual trust and cooperation.” The program invited over 30 tri sector leaders from Indonesia who works in human capital field come to Tsinghua for foundation week training from 10-14 July. During the week study, the participants communicated with top experts in China which covered the area of China’s social security system, labor market change, made in China 2025, China’s talent attraction policy, they also visited leading Chinese companies Huawei and Alibaba, as well as one of the top science park in China TUSPARK. On the closing ceremony, Dean Xue Lan from School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University introduced the SDG Pyramid concept to participants together with UN SDSN SEA Chair Cherie Nursalim, and express their hope that CO-CLASS program could play the role of bridging the people to people link between China and Indonesia under the big picture of One Belt One Road Initiative.
